A business jet with a VIP client on board was scheduled to depart Saint Kitts in the Caribbean. Prior to departure, the crew discovered that the main battery needed replacing. The VIP urgently needed to get back to Los Angeles Airport, so time was of the essence.
The only battery available was in Chicago, US. Since it was considered dangerous goods, the battery could not be shipped on a passenger aircraft.
A charter aircraft was quickly scheduled to transport the battery from the US to Saint Kitts, with the flight taking off within just one hour of receiving the customer’s request.
The Sterling team coordinated landing permits and customs clearance as well as organising dedicated ground support to expedite the pick-up process. This ensured the transition from air to ground transport was seamless.
The battery was securely hand-delivered to the destination, providing real-time communication with the client throughout the journey.
With collaborative efforts and attention to detail, the battery arrived on time to allow the scheduled departure to proceed without delay.
